Notes on Accuracy

Please bear in mind that SkiMax only collects, filters, and displays information that it obtains from the core services of the iphone product on which it runs. As such this data can be, at times, inaccurate to some degree. Whilst we have attempted to reflect the most accurate and reliable information received from the device, we cannot be held responsible for inaccuracies, in any way.  Devices rely on a considerable number of environmental factors to provide location data, altitude data and speed data.   We have striven to provide filtering techniques that better deal with inaccuracies in the raw data, but, these techniques are not without potential flaws.  We do, of course aim to review these filters from time to time in future product releases.

SkiMax provides a fun method of data comparison, that may be used by a group of people, who trust each other enough, to share their information.  It is not, and should not be regarded as a precise mechanism to provide trusted competition level statistics or data.

Never use SkiMax as a primary source of navigation information.

Please consider this information on data inaccuracies before raising any support ticket.

Debug Mode

SkiMax can be switched to operate in debug mode. This may be useful when attempting to provide as much information as possible for the purpose of helping in the support of an issue you may have with SkiMax. Do not operate SkiMax normally in the debug state. While in this mode, it records a lot more information on its internal operations that may be of use to SkiMax support staff during problem diagnosis and investigation. In this mode its usage of power is a lot higher.

Enabling Debug Mode

Debug mode is entered by tapping the ‘Longest Sustained Speed’ area, of the 'New Track', page ten times in succession within ten seconds.  If successfully enabled the bottom tool-bar will display, in a small font size, the words: ‘DebugMode’, as shown below.

Disabling Debug Mode

Once enabled, Debug Mode remains in force until the application is closed down completely, (swiping off screen in task management).
